TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION – ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Counseling Psychology

The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Louisiana Tech
University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Counseling
Psychology for an immediate opening. Primary responsibilities include graduate
and undergraduate teaching, establishing a research program that incorporates
student mentoring, and clinical supervision. The position is at the Assistant
Professor level, although exceptional candidates with appropriate experience and
a record of research and grant funding may be considered for the rank of
Associate Professor. Previous university teaching experience is preferred.
Candidates should hold a doctorate from an APA-accredited Counseling
Psychology program, have completed an APA-accredited internship by the time
of hire, and be license eligible in Louisiana. In addition, the candidate should
demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and to teach
courses that integrate culturally diverse content.

Area of specialization is open and all qualified interested candidates are
encouraged to apply. We are particularly seeking applicants whose research
focus and teaching qualifications can support areas of our Counseling Psychology
core (psychotherapy, multiculturalism, assessment, health psychology, and
foundational areas of psychology) and complement existing faculty interests in
assessment and health psychology. Experience in pursuing external grant funding
for research is also desirable.

About the University and Department: Louisiana Tech University is a selective-
admission, comprehensive, public university committed to both excellence in
teaching and the advancement of research. The Department of Psychology and
Behavioral Sciences includes an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Ph.D.
program, Ph.D. and M.A. programs in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, a
CACREP-accredited Counseling and Guidance M.A. program, and an
undergraduate psychology program. We are an active department with 17 full-
time faculty members and our Master’s and undergraduate enrollments are
among the largest across the university. The person holding this position will
serve on the Core Faculty of the Counseling Psychology program and also
provide supplementary support to the M.A. programs and the undergraduate
program.
