Alliant International University Provost Russ Newman

Alliant International University would like to congratulate Provost Russ Newman, recipient of the Diversity Visionary Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. INSIGHT Into Diversity’s Visionary Awards recognize individuals who have made significant past and present contributions to diversity in higher education. Each Diversity Visionary Award recipient has made an indelible mark in broadening diversity and inclusion at their college or university.

Dr. Newman is deeply committed to Alliant's students and educating them to become local and global professionals. His leadership ensures they are equipped with the intercultural competency necessary to solve real world problems in diverse communities both here in the U.S. and around the world. Consistent with his commitment and vision, Newman has championed blended international and multicultural initiatives through Alliant's International-Multicultural Education, Research, Interventions, and Training (I-MERIT) diversity office. This is based on Dr. Newman’s vision that diversity and inclusion must be taught from multiple perspectives that are equally relevant to local and global contexts.
