Alliant Brings Women in Leadership Center Stage
Alliant International University is bringing women in leadership to the forefront with an event and discussion gathering both veteran and aspiring female leaders. This inaugural event is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Green Hall on Alliant’s San Diego campus.
The more than 60 expected participants include members of the Alliant community, as well as leaders from San Diego area businesses, government and other organizations. Those in attendance will rotate through multiple small groups engaging in fluid conversations facilitated by discussion topics centered on issues women leaders face. The event provides opportunity for networking in addition to sharing and advancing thought on women in entrepreneurial and management roles.
Topics for discussion include current global workplace climates; challenges and opportunities experienced by female leaders; research opportunities in women leadership; gender differences in management; and activism, support services and community partnerships.
This special event originated from California School of Management & Leadership faculty member, Louise Kelly, PhD, and emphasizes Alliant’s commitment to diversity and community engagement. Kelly is a prolific academic, researcher, author and consultant in the areas of entrepreneurship, strategy and management. In 2014, Kelly released her fourth book, “Entrepreneurial Women: New Management and Leadership Models.”
Carole Hyatt will take part in the event as a special guest. Hyatt is a bestselling author, international motivational speaker and an expert on career development and women’s corporate consulting programs. Her latest book is “The Woman’s New Selling Game: How to Sell Yourself — and Anything Else.” You can learn more about Hyatt at www.carolehyatt.org.
