Senior Director of Technology, Qualcomm
Khaled El-Maleh is a Senior Director of Technology in the IP Department of Qualcomm. He leads the Multimedia Technology team and related Multimedia and User Experience IP Strategy areas. Dr. El-Maleh’s areas of expertise and interests include: design, implementation and quality evaluation of mobile multimedia systems, data mining/analytics, human-computer interfaces, computer vision applications, innovation and industry-university technology transfer. He is a technologist and strategist with focus on entrepreneurship & Innovation. He is an accomplished inventor with more than 200 US and international patents. He was awarded Qualcomm Career Thought Leadership Award in 2009, and the IP Department 2013 Distinguished Contributor Award.

RANDY HOLLOWAY
Director of Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions, Microsoft
Randy Holloway is a business leader with experience in Enterprise Software and Cloud Computing with 15+ years of proven capability in driving revenue growth, competing to win in new businesses and market segments, building customer loyalty and developing leaders. He has extensive enterprise IT leadership experience as an executive manager driving business transformation in partnership with senior business leaders. Randy Holloway serves as Director, Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions at Microsoft and is responsible for sales, technical services and deployment of Microsoft’s Hybrid Cloud technologies for the Western US and US Public Sector. Randy has worked at Microsoft for the past 9 years and during his tenure has led teams focused on datacenter solutions and technical strategy and worked with many of Microsoft’s largest enterprise customers. Prior to joining Microsoft, Randy was the Director of Enterprise Applications for HASCO International, a photography and marketing services company serving over 2M customers annually.

MICHAEL MARKOW, PHD
Systems Engineering Consultant, General Atomics
Dr. Michael Markow has over 35 years’ experience in Government, defense and commercial business. His experience includes Program Management, Systems Engineering, Business Development, and Research & Development. He is currently a Systems Engineering consultant for General Atomics, San Diego, for the Predator/Reaper UAV Program developing architectures and requirements. Dr. Markow is a retired officer from the United States Air Force, and served as an Associate Professor at the United States Air Force Academy teaching digital and computer design. Dr. Markow holds a Ph.D. from UT Austin in Electrical Engineering, a Masters from the University of Mexico in Electrical Engineering, and a BSEE from the United States Air Force Academy.

ASH MEHTA
CEO, PatientClick, Inc.
Ashish Mehta, is the CEO of PatientClick, Inc. a web based TeleMedicine, electronic health record and practice management system. He also serves as Business Advisor and EIR with CONNECT San Diego, and is an active Advisory Board Member with California State University San Marcos MBA program. He is the Founder of Zodiac Infotech LLC, a global information technology and business back office solution provider. He has been involved with international business consulting for international economic development initiatives with State of OH and Government of India primary focused on sectors like renewable energy, immigrant entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. Mr. Mehta is a Chemical Engineer by training with a Master’s in Business Administration.

MARGI MELLOTT, PMP
Global IT Business Relationship Manager, Oracle University
Margi Mellott, PMP, BRMP is the Oracle Global IT Business Relationship Manager for the Oracle University organization, curriculum designer, adjunct professor, and certified coach. Margi has been in the IT industry for 19 years and teaching at the university level for 12 years. She has worked in technical roles, management, operations, program management, and as a Service Planner/ Director. She has served on the boards of Real Choices and Leader’s Challenge. She has been involved with Toastmasters, the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the Women’s Vision Foundation, and a leadership community of interest at Sun. She holds an Associate degree in Computer Networking, a Bachelor’s degree in Business, with a focus in IS, and an MBA.

Recognized in business and higher education communities for her experience and knowledge in the areas of executive leadership, management, marketing, social media, and accounting, Diane Law has helped numerous organizations from multi-million-dollar technology firms to non-profit organizations by raising the visibility of corporate brands locally, nationally and internationally, capturing key accounts and increasing revenues. Diane is the Founder and President of Parachute Marketing, member of the Adjunct Marketing Faculty at Point Loma Nazarene University, United States University, and University of San Diego. She chairs the San Diego Manufacturing Day Committee, sits on the marketing committee for the San Diego Boys and Girls Club, and is a member of Rotary. Diane holds an MBA in General Business Management from University of Phoenix, a Master’s Degree in Accounting from University of Phoenix, a BS in Business Administration, Marketing & Management from Duquesne University, and a Certification of Social Media Marketing from Rutgers University.

CAPTAIN RICHARD K. MCCARTHY
SC, USN Director, Navy Regional Plant Equipment Office, San Diego
Captain Richard K. McCarthy, SC, USN, is the Director of Navy Regional Plant Equipment Office. He is responsible for West Coast operations of an Echelon II system level organization that provides full spectrum, acquisitions and logistics support for critical Navy and high priority programs. He manages over $500 million in annual expenditures and leads a staff of 65 acquisition professionals with functional expertise in contracting, finance, cost estimating, security, legal, information technology, cyber-security, and human resources. A native of Irvine, California, CAPT McCarthy graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Minor in Spanish and earned Masters of Science Degrees in Contracting and Acquisitions Management from Naval Postgraduate School in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

UBALDO GONZALEZ

Mr. Gonzalez is an information Technology (IT) professional. He works in Rady Children’s Hospital’s Information Technology area and works at defining applications problems and developing solutions through establishing specifications. He consults with business managers and clients so the systems can better serve both parties. His role includes implementing specialized software to organize and store data.He has been an IT professional for over 30 years and started working in the field in 1985 at Transamerica. He worked at AT&T, and currently Rady Children’s Hospital. He has an undergraduate and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from USIU, where he also played and coached a very successful soccer team.

Dr. Aaron M. Wester, PhD is an award winning National Director of Analytics and Research for iProspect, the top ranked digital business agency in the world and part of the Dentsu Aegis Network based out of London, Tokyo, and New York. Dr. Wester is a published author, and an internationally recognized public speaker. He previously worked with The Walt Disney Company, Earthlink, NetZero, idealab!, Press Ganey, Demand Media, Deseret Digital Media (Bonneville International and NBC News), Covario, Deloitte & Touche Tohmatsu, and United States Congress (HIR – House Information Resources). In his current role, Dr. Wester leads teams of data scientists, insights strategists, and reporting analysts in 13 offices across the United States. Dr. Wester’s teams provide analytics services to clients which are highly diversified across multiple vertical industries ranging from Intel, Apple, Sony, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Paypal, Facebook, and Google, to Anthem, Maserati, Timberland, Gap, Old Navy, Proctor & Gamble, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, and Bank of America among several others. On the side, Dr. Wester teaches technology and analytics courses for Brigham Young University and Southern New Hampshire University. He resides with his family in San Diego and Salt Lake City.

MICHAEL BECKER

Mike is a professional with over 30 years experience in the financial services and banking segment. During his long tenure in the banking segment, he has engaged in several areas including small business development, branch growth, commercial and retail lending and loans. His experience spans Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, IronStone Bank, and First Citizens Bank. He is a sports enthusiast with education from San Diego State University.

TED ST. MARTIN, CPA, MBA
Chief Financial Officer, Dart NeuroScience
Ted St. Martin has more than 15 years of leadership in the life science industry and has served numerous biotechnology and life science organizations with various activities, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and private equity financings. From September 2007 to October 2010, Mr. St. Martin served as controller for Phenomix Corporation, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company. While at Phenomix, Mr. St. Martin was responsible for managing the overall accounting function, including financial reporting, internal controls, collaboration accounting and participated in filing the company’s initial public offering documents in 2008. Prior to his tenure at Phenomix, Mr. St. Martin was the controller at GeneOhm Sciences, a molecular diagnostics company, where he participated in a Series C round of venture financing, the acquisition of Infectio Diagnostics, Inc., and the subsequent acquisition of GeneOhm in 2006 by Becton Dickinson for $255 million. Mr. St. Martin began his career as an auditor for Ernst & Young where he served both public and private companies. He received a B.S. in accounting from Purdue University, an executive MBA from San Diego State University and an executive Certificate in the Business of Life Sciences from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. He is a certified public accountant with the State of California and a member of the Association of Bioscience Financial Officers.
