Alliant Faculty Member Awarded Grant to Support the "Latino Healthcare Career Expo"

Dr. Linna Wang, core faculty member at Alliant’s California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) was awarded a $12,000 contract  from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), Healthcare Workforce Development Division. The contract will provide funding for the “Latino Healthcare Career Expo,” an event aimed at providing middle and high school age Latino students and their families with information on career options and related educational requirements in healthcare.

Dr. Wang will work on the project with Dr. Erika Flores, a member of CSPP’s adjunct faculty in San Diego. This project will partner with Mental Health Pathway, another grant-funded Alliant project headed by Dr. Dawn Griffin, director of the CSPP undergraduate psychology program.

Additional partners of the “Latino Healthcare Career Expo” project are: Rancho Minerva Middle School, San Diego County Mental Health Pathway: A Community Academy, San Diego High Tech High School and University of California, San Diego Medical School.
