A systemwide I-MERIT Office provides leadership as well as resources, consultation, and training to academic programs and administrative offices to make cultural competence part and parcel of all aspects of the University. The work of I-MERIT is supported by an Associate Provost, an Associate Director, administrative assistants and work study students. Each campus has an I-MERIT Committee, comprised of students, staff, and faculty, which sponsors events, training sessions, and projects. In addition, a Latino Achievement Initiative, supported by a Director and work study students, focuses on outreach to the Latino community and the creation of a Latino-friendly university.
The Interim Associate Provost of I-MERIT is Dr. Sheila Henderson , who is based on the San Francisco Campus, and is available via email. The Director of the Latino Achievement Initiative is Dr. Guadalupe Corona, who is based on the San Diego campus and can be reached via email.
