CSPP-San Francisco's PhD Clinical Psychology Program Receives Seven-Year Re-accreditation from American Psychological Association (APA)
San Francisco, May 4, 2007 — The American Psychological Association (APA) has re-accredited Alliant International University’s California School of Professional Psychology’s PhD Clinical Psychology Program at CSPP-San Francisco for seven years. “This is very good news,” said Alliant Provost Dr. Rodney Lowman. “Results like this do not happen without a lot of work and so there are many people to recognize for this impressive success.” The entire CSPP-SF PhD program faculty worked extremely hard to build a strong program, responding to issues raised by the APA in a thoughtful and considered manner. “My sincerest Congratulations to the San Francisco CSPP PhD faculty,” said Professor and Systemwide Dean of the Graduate School of Education Dr. Karen Schuster Webb. “The accomplishment is not only of great significance to CSPP, but to the Alliant community as well.” Program Director Dr. Dalia Ducker made enormous efforts in preparation of the proposal and to Interim Program Director Dr. Eduardo Morales greatly contributed on the supplemental information the APA required. Drs. Robert-Jay Green, Diane Adams, and Natalie Porter, who read and commented on the self study and the draft replies to the site team report and to Associate CSPP Dean Diane Adams and her committee (Dr. Porter and Dr. Joanne Callan), who worked with Dr. Morales on the replies to issues raised by the APA and to Interim CSPP Dean Dr. Steven Bucky. Recognition also goes to Dr. Patrick Petti for his work on the Optional Practical Training (OPT) section of the re-accreditation report, to Deanna Gaige and Joe Tally for presenting the library in such an impressive way, and to Erika Opper and Kathrine King for putting together the required tables. Associate Provost for Institutional Research Patty Mullen greatly supported the process with important data collection. Many staff members, including SF-Director of Campus and Student Services Ned Doherty, also provided many valuable contributions in answering questions, providing needed information, and in helping to facilitate the entire process. The Clinical Psychology PhD students in San Francisco were enthusiastic throughout the process, participating in the student meeting with the site visitors. “Congratulations and thanks to all for this hard work and great outcome,” said Dr. Lowman.
