CSPP-San Diego's PsyD Program and CSPP-Los Angeles' PhD Program Receive Three-Year Re-accreditation from American Psychological Association
 | | San Francisco & San Diego May 11, 2007 | | Reaffirming the quality of professional education received by students in the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), the American Psychological Association (APA) has re-accredited CSPP's Los Angeles PhD Program and San Diego PsyD Program in clinical psychology for three years. Program Director Dr. Ellin Bloch was the chief architect of the proposal and worked tirelessly on getting it and the subsequent material to APA. Program Coordinator Cher Berry was specifically mentioned in the Site Visit report as doing a fine job in support of the program; Dr. Bloch notes that Ms. Berry demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and helped organize a myriad of details throughout the entire re-accreditation process. Drs. Beckman, Noviello and Parks also were very important to this success. Great support was also provided by Constandia Palivos who helped administer and analyzed survey results from students and alumni. Field training faculty Barry Cohen; Diane Beneventi; Elizabeth Jenks; Terece Bell were also important contributors. Program Director Dr. Neil Ribner was the primary preparer of the self-study and overseer of the site visit for the re-accreditation of the San Diego PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology. Program Assistant Larissa Dizon, and to Drs. Joanne Callan, Natalie Porter and Diane Adams contributed reviews and comments on drafts of the self study and subsequent submissions. “Of course, for both programs, special thanks also go to the faculty, students and staff in each program and to Interim CSPP Dean Dr. Steven Bucky,” said Provost Rodney Lowman. In the last two years, five of our eight APA-programs in clinical psychology were up for re-accreditation and all five were re-accredited as were our Marriage and Family Therapy Programs (by the COAMFTE). “This represents a terrific outcome at a time the University has been transitioning through what was a difficult period. I want to thank all of those who helped make these fine outcomes possible and to ask that we take a small moment at least to reflect on what a fine University we are and are becoming. Congratulations, all,” said Provost Lowman. Congratulations to all! For More Information Los Angeles-PhD Program Faculty San Diego-PsyD Program Faculty
