In addition to being a run-away success, Alliant Connect, is a place where alumni of all of Alliant's legacy institutions can find colleagues and friends, advertise a business or consulting expertise, find jobs and much more. Within one day of the site going live, alumni had posted several jobs and had begun several online interest groups affiliated with Alliant Connect.

Alumni Check in From Around the World

While this was happening, Alumni Director Dr. Ali Abu-Rahma, who is an alumnus of USIU, received emails from alumni in Costa Rica, Israel, Australia and all over the USA. "I am very excited about this and looking forward to meeting with our Alumni in the United States and around the world," said Dr. Abu-Rahma.

Alumni Connect was conceptualized and developed by Chelsea Bullen, Alliant's webmaster and online graphic designer. “I knew how myspace helped connect so many people across such a broad spectrum. People were finding people across countries and coasts. I thought it would be the best way to connect the Alliant community on a global level,” said Bullen.

Alliant alumni - graduates of CSPP, USIU, Cal Western, CSOS, CSBOS and Alliant - plus students who will graduate this spring are being invited to be the first to publish their during priority sign-ups through April 15, 2007. After that, the community will be open to all Alliant students, faculty and staff as well. “We hope to connect alliant alumni so that they can learn from each other share experiences,” said Bullen.
