| On May 24, 2007 Alliant International University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mount San Jacinto College to partner in assisting students in the transfer process to Alliant. Students at Mount San Jacinto College in California will now find it easy to come to Alliant International University. Thanks to an agreement between the two institutions, qualified students of the two-year school will receive fast-track admission for any semester with a waved application fee and advising. Alliant will also offer a $1000 transfer scholarships for five eligible Mount San Jacinto students annually. The MOU was signed at Mount San Jacinto College’s Menifee campus by Alliant President Geoff Cox, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Rodney Lowman, Vice PresidentCenter for Undergraduate Education Eric Gravenberg, Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education Linda Swanson, Systemwide Director of Articulation Tammy Fox, and Articulation Officer for Mt. San Jacinto College Jane McCurdy. Alliant found a perfect partner in Mt. San Jacinto, a comprehensive community college that offers courses and programs that satisfy the transfer requirements of four-year colleges and universities. Both Mt. San Jacinto and Alliant’s Center for Undergraduate Education share a commitment to diversity, which is reflected in their respective student bodies and the MOU’s guarantee of priority registration for educationally disadvantaged, low-income, and special needs students. Thanks to this MOU, Mt. San Jacinto students will experience a seamless and user friendly transition to Alliant, ultimately increasing and enriching Alliant’s Center for Undergraduate Education’s student body in San Diego. Both institutions have also agreed to explore additional collaborative opportunities to enhance student persistence and retention through future joint programs.
