Leon Smith, a fourth year doctoral candidate in the Graduate School of Education (GSOE) has been invited to present his dissertation topic at the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations Conference (HPAIR) from August 17th-20th, 2007 in Beijing, China.  | | Leon Smith | Leon will participate in the Social Policy workshop led by Harvard University Professor of Psychology Dr. Weihua “Edwards” The workshop will cover distribution and structure of contemporary inequalities in Asian countries, focusing on dimensions such as income, education, health, gender and ethnicity. The delegates to the HPAIR conference are top university students, chosen from an international pool of over 1200 applicants. Approximately 500 undergraduate and graduate students will participate this year. Past speakers at the conference include former South Korean President and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Kim Dae Jung, Governor General of Australia Peter Hollingworth, and Singapore President S.R. Nathan. Following the conference, Leon will travel to Hong Kong, where he will take part in the International Business Conference. The conference will create a forum for discussion of new developments and classic theory in business among students, professionals, academics throughout the world.
