Alliant to Put in Strong Showing at Conference of Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology

May 2, 2006 - San Francisco, CA --The Marshall Goldsmith School of Management at Alliant International University will be strongly represented at the annual conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) in Dallas.

“SIOP is a prestigious conference and notably selective, so we’re very pleased to be represented by a dozen presentations,” said Dr. Rodney Lowman, Interim Provost at Alliant and one of the conference presenters. “We hope that alumni of the school – under its various names – will stop by our exhibit hall table and our reception this Saturday evening. We’re returning to this conference in strength and with a prestigious new name, and we think our alumni will find much to make them feel proud.”

 Please join our Reception

Alliant will sponsor a SIOP reception Saturday, May 6th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in Suite 3532 at the Adam’s Marks Hotel. Please join us!

“It’s very appropriate that our first major public event following the adoption of our new name is SIOP,” commented Dr. Jay Finkelman, Interim Dean. “The central idea behind the school is that to succeed in business, you need to understand how to successfully motivate and manage people. That is what SIOP is about. We’re very pleased that the school’s faculty will be there presenting on topics that range from ethics and executive coaching to inclusion and outsourcing.”

The school adopted the name “Marshall Goldsmith School of Management” on April 19 of this year. Previously known as the California School of Business and Organizational Studies (CSBOS), the school was formed through a merger of the California School of Organizational Studies (CSOS) and the United States International School of Business (USICB). Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, now a University Professor at Alliant, will be among the conference presenters.
