San Diego - April 24, 2007 -- Alliant Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rodney L. Lowman has been named to head the Strategic Planning Advisory Committee for the American Psychological Association (APA).

Dr. Lowman, also an APA Council Representative, is trained in both Industrial-Organizational and Clinical Psychology. “We’ve put together a rather distinguished committee with whom I will have the pleasure of serving,” said Dr. Lowman.

The new Ad Hoc Strategic Planning Advisory Committee was established at February’s APA Council Meeting. APA CEO Norm Anderson asked Dr. Lowman to chair the committee.

“I am very proud to chair this august group. This is, by any standard, an exceptionally distinguished committee. The members cover quite a range of relevant background for helping to advise Norm on his strategic planning efforts for APA,” said Dr. Lowman.

“The members of this committee cover a very wide range of specialty areas and types of settings (academia, government, military, industry) and are professionals who are well positioned to see the big picture and to advise APA as it strategically plans for its future.
