Alliant International University President Dr. Geoffrey Cox Responds to Virginia Tech Shooting

 
 

San Francisco, April 17, 2007  — In the wake of  two attacks that killed 31 people, at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University on Monday, Alliant International University President Dr. Geoffrey Cox stated, "The trustees, administration, faculty, staff and students of Alliant International University are shocked and saddened by the tragic events that unfolded on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University yesterday."

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who suffered loss and injury in the Virginia Tech Community."

Dr. Cox noted that Alliant faculty members will make themselves available to members of the media struggling to understand the seemingly senseless tragedy. Faculty members affiliated with Alliant's California School of Professional Psychology, the Center for Forensic Studies and the Institute for Violence Abuse and Trauma (IVAT) have special expertise in post-traumatic stress, domestic violence and stalking and violence prevention.
