 | | | Systemwide – April 19, 2007 – The four campuses of Alliant International University that are holding graduation ceremonies this spring have announced keynote speakers: Dr. Pat DeLeon, Dr. Marissa Pei, Dr. Carl Mack and Dr. Vang Leng Mouanoutua.
Alliant’s Scripps Ranch Campus in San Diego (combined with Irvine campus) will host, on Friday, May 25, Dr. Pat DeLeon, former president of the American Psychological Association and long-time Chief of Staff for Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii). He is one of the chief architects of the psychopharmacology movement for psychologists, having received The American Society for the Advancement of Pharmacotherapy (Division 55)National Contributions to Pharmacotherapy Award in 2001. He serves as editor for Psychological Services and writes a column for Independent Practitioner. He is a member of both the Hawaii and Nevada State Psychological Associations.
Alliant’s Los Angeles campus will host Dr. Marissa Pei for ceremonies on Sunday, June 3, at the Pasadena Civic auditorium. An alumna of the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant, Dr. Pei also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management’s Organizational Studies Division. She is a recipient of the 2005 Role Model of the Year Award in Business and Media and co-author of the best-seller “Organization Development and Consulting: Foundations and Perspectives.” Her newpaper column “Get Balanced with Dr. Marissa” appears monthly in the Sun Newspaper. Alliant’s Fresno Campus will host Dr. Vang Leng Mouanoutua in the Convention Center’s New Exhibit Hall on Friday, June 1. This CSPP-Fresno Alumnus is a clinical psychologist for the Fresno County Mental Health Services. He contributed the chapter "Depression and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder: Prevailing Causes and Therapeutic Strategies with Hmong Clients" to Healing by Heart Clinical and Ethical Case Stories of Hmong Families and Western Providers. He specializes in mental health issues and the Hmong. His CSPP 1992 dissertation “Risk for Child Maltreatment in the Hmong Community,” studied 132 Hmong parents living in California’s Central Valley.
Alliant’s San Francisco Campus (combined with MFT graduates from Sacramento) will be honored to hear Dr. Carl Mack at ceremonies held at the Herbst Pavillion, Fort Mason Center on Saturday, June 2. A Senior Lecturer at the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management, Dr. Mack specializes in cultural diversity and group dynamics in organizations. Dr. Mack's faculty webpage.
