Additional Information:
Dr. Gutierrez has extensive clinical experience with LGBT clients and has conducted research on their relationships. She has presented on areas of conflict, maintenance behaviors and conflict resolution strategies in same-sex couples. During her academic work, Dr. Gutierrez participated in several assessments of counselor knowledge about LGB issues and, in a separate project, transgender issues. She has presented at national meetings about the results. In addition to Alliant, Dr. Gutierrez has taught at the University of California, Irvine and at Antioch University. She received her BA degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA; her MA degree from the University of San Francisco; a second MA and her Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Gutierrez has clinical experience in the California cities of Escondido, San Diego, Irvine and Santa Barbara working with LGBT and other clients.
