VALORY MITCHELL, Ph.D. is a full professor in the Psy.D. Program of the California School of Professional Psychology, at Alliant University, San Francisco Bay campus.  She has been coordinator of the school’s Gender Studies Emphasis Area and director of the Institute for the Psychology of Women at the school’s training clinic.  Dr. Mitchell’s publications and presentations explore four themes: women’s lifespan development, the planned lesbian two-mother family, psychotherapy with lesbian and gay couples, and feminist pedagogy and consultation.  She has also maintained a private psychotherapy practice in Berkeley, California, for nearly 25 years.
