Additional Information:

With Dr. Michael Rankins, Dr. Pope just completed a qualitative study of marriage with male couples who were married in San Francisco. He was the editor of a special section of The Career Development Quarterly (the premier professional journal on career counseling and development) on gay and lesbian career development.

Dr. Pope's primary area of interest and research is in multicultural career counseling, especially gay/lesbian, Native American, and Asian career development issues.  He also has much interest in the use of psychological assessment inventories across cultures as well as the development and validation of such inventories.  Dr. Pope has written on the history and development of professional counseling in the USA and other countries, violence in the schools, and Native American traditional healing.  He has published five books, over 30 chapters in books, over 35 articles in professional journals, and over 120 presentations at international, national, regional, and state professional conferences.
