Koff is the COO and Co-Director of Live Oak, Inc., a group of psychotherapists and consultants who provide counseling and educational services that enhance the emotional and psychological well being of individuals, families, organizations and communities.  Koff specializes in clinical practice with the lesbian, gay and bisexual populations, and has provided counseling to over 1,500 individuals, couples and families.  He has presented both locally and nationally to mental health professionals on a range of topics regarding the LGBT population.  For the past seven years, Koff has directed a unique, award-winning training program for mental health professionals offering a post-graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice with LGBT Individuals and Their Families. 

He is also the co-author, with Gil Herdt, of the book Something To Tell You: The Road Families Travel When A Child Is Gay

Koff is currently coordinating a training program for two child welfare agencies in Chicago on “Working with LGBTQ Youth In Child Welfare.”
