Bio

Geoffrey M. Cox is President of Alliant International University, a private, not-for-profit, multi-campus university specializing in psychology, education, management and related fields. Cox was appointed president in 2004. He has more than 30 years of experience in higher education as an administrator and teacher. Prior to joining Alliant, he was President of Cardean University, a for-profit Internet-based education company. Earlier, he served as Vice Provost and Dean for Institutional Planning at Stanford University, and Director of Financial Planning and Budgets and Associate Provost at the University of Chicago. He has been a Commissioner of the Senior Accrediting Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and has served on several nonprofit boards and commissions. He is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from higher education policies to the role of technology in teaching and learning. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from Knox College in Illinois. He has taught philosophy and humanities courses at the University of Chicago and at Stanford.
