Hurwich Library

Librarians Joe Tally and Deanna Gaige. Photo by Su Evers.

The Hurwich Library, the centerpiece of the San Francisco Campus, is located on the first floor, directly off the lobby. This gracious facility includes places where students can conduct online research, meet in small study groups and participate in library instruction.

Wheelchair accessible, the library also houses a disability resources room. It includes a computer with voice recognition and audio software, a scanner and a Braille printer. In addition, there is a video lab for students in the interviewing and observation classes.

The library maintains a comprehensive collection of print and electronic resources in clinical psychology, forensic psychology, neuropsychology, organizational behavior, psychopharmacology, cross cultural studies and education. This collection supports the curriculum and research efforts of students and faculty.

The collection is supplemented by lending agreements with regional library consortia and can also draw on resources from other Alliant Library locations. Bibliographic instruction and presentations on library research methods are given to classes throughout the year. The librarians provide onsite assistance, as well as by phone and E-mail to students with individual research and reference questions.
