and will not affect your academic standing. 


Charges:

Counseling services are provided free* to all registered students
of Alliant International University.


*Services for “Personal/Professional Growth” (school requirement)
are available for a fee.

About Us

The Counseling and Psychological Services Center at Alliant International University is located in Building M-14 on the Scripps Ranch campus in San Diego.  Our office hours are 10:00AM–6:00PM Mondays through Thursdays.  The center is staffed by licensed psychologists and supervised post-doctoral psychology interns.  The counseling center provides free* and confidential individual, couples, and group counseling services to all fee-paying students at Alliant.

 

As a college student you may find yourself entering a new lifestyle and encountering new experiences and stressors unique to being in college.  We recognize that sometimes these new experiences can present you with challenges, and we want you to know that when challenges present themselves, you don’t need to go through it alone. At the counseling center, our goal is to provide services designed to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of all students, and we welcome you to stop by.


*For students seeking “Personal/Professional Growth” counseling to meet program requirements, a fee will apply.


Who seeks counseling?

Counseling services are available to all registered students.  Services are free and confidential.  Students seek counseling for a variety of reasons, though no particular reason is more important than the other.  Some common reasons students seek counseling include, but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Drug and Alcohol abuse
  • Time management skills                                           
  • Cultural adjustment
  • Eating disorders
  • Resolving conflicts/Improving relationships
  • Effective communication skills
  • Loss/bereavement
  • Stressors related to academics, internships, practicums and other school-related matters.

Services Provided

The counseling center offers a variety of confidential counseling services to meet the needs of students in support of their academic, career, and personal goals.  Confidential services include:

  • Individual/Personal Counseling
  • Couples Counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Psychological Assessments
  • Community Referrals

Workshops and Presentations


The counseling center staff also provides outreach and consultation services to the Alliant community through various workshops and presentations.  Examples of such workshops and presentations offered by the counseling staff include:

  • Coping with Comprehensive Exams
  • Stress Management
  • Workplace Violence
  • Drug and Alcohol Education
  • Cultural Awareness
  • Other Requested Workshops
