Technology Lab - ASC (M-8)

The ASC Technology Lab in Building M-8 offers students a place for quiet study. The lab has 12 computers with office productivity software and tutorials on mathematics and writing as well as access to the Internet and Alliant Library databases.

Two of the computers are equipped with SPSS, a tool that can be used for data mining, text mining, and predictive analysis. An SPSS tutorial is installed that provides a step-by-step, hands-on guide to the features available on the program.

In tutoring room 3 in M-8, the ASC has established a Language Arts Lab with a computer equipped with software to help students practice spelling and punctuation, format papers using correct APA style, and use Microsoft Word more effectively. There is also Visual Thesaurus software and PLATO, a self-paced grammar tutorial program.
