The Walter Library
The Walter Library, an attractive building surrounded by trees and vast lawns, is one of the most striking architectural features on Alliant International University's San Diego campus. The flagship for the Alliant Library System, the Walter Library houses Alliant's largest collection.
The Walter Library serves as a hub for academic support services for Alliant students in San Diego. (See links at right for other academic support resources available to San Diego students.)
The Walter Library is also the site of many social and cultural gatherings. Patrons using the library have a choice of pleasant reading individual and group study areas, and the Phillips Ise International Friendship Garden in the Library's enclosed courtyard.
Alumni Services
Patrons with a Friends of Jung or an Alumni card may check out circulating books. Alumni cards are available through the Alliant San Diego Alumni Office and are available at no cost.
Open to the Public
The Walter Library is open to the public for research purposes. Visiting patrons have access to the book and journal collections and online databases for on-site use only. Please check the Library's hours to verify that a staff member is available to assist with logging on to the computer.
Visitors to the San Diego campus must ask for a free one-day visitor parking pass at the main gate entrance. If no one is at the main gate entrance, go to Public Safety (M-12) or call extension 4444 or (858) 635-4444 from a cell or off-campus phone. Automobiles not properly displaying a parking pass or permit may be ticketed and fined.
Non-Alliant patrons may purchase a Friends of Library card, which costs $12.50 for six months and $25.00 for a year. FOL & FOJ library cards do not give the holder remote access to the databases, assessment materials, A/V or interlibrary loans/ paging/ LINK+ privileges.
