You should have international insurance coverage when coming to Mexico.

Cost of Books

Book costs vary, but you will need approximately $150 dollars per semester for books, if you are a full-time student.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available for eligible citizens and residents of the US. Details and applications are available on-line at http://www.alliant.edu/

Financial aid recipients from other universities or Alliant campuses should talk to their financial aid counselor informing him/her that they are planning to study at the Mexico campus. Once you have initiated the exchange process, make sure you register for classes with Vania Quiroz, Registrar at the Mexico campus, vquiroz@alliant.com.mx so she can confirm registration with the financial aid office at your home campus.  Tuition money is sent directly to the Mexico campus.

Your personal money can be sent here; however, it will take approximately two weeks after the disbursement of funds for you to be able to access your personal money. It is faster, if you have your portion of the money sent to your account in the US. US and international ATM cards work in Mexico and you can withdraw cash in the same way you would at home.

Class Schedules & Registration

Class schedules are available approximately six weeks prior to the initiation of courses. Contact Vania Quiroz, vquiroz@alliant.com.mx for class information.  It is easiest for us to enroll you in appropriate classes if you have a transcript of your studies sent to us.

Spanish classes are available for- and not-for-credit through our Spanish Language Center. Spanish classes are offered at a variety of levels. Once you arrive and if you wish to take Spanish classes, we will give you a Spanish placement exam to see what your level of language skill is and place you in classes accordingly.  Spanish classes taken not-for-credit have a cost of approximately $180 dollars for 30 hours.  For more information, contact Vania Quiroz at vquiroz@alliant.com.mx.

* Some variations may occur depending on the peso-to-dollar exchange rate. (Dollar prices were quoted at 11 desos to the dollar in July, 2005.)
