VISAS

If you are NOT a Mexican citizen, please be advised that you will need to process a student VISA in your country of residence BEFORE travelling to Mexico. Click here for more detailed VISA information.

Housing Options

Alliant Mexico does not have on-campus dormitories.  However, the Student Services Department is available to help you make housing arrangements.  There are several options available to you upon your arrival.  Most of our students elect to stay in hotels, homestays or youth hostels while they find a more permanent living arrangement on their own.

Apartment Rentals

Student Services can help you identify a suitable apartment.  Due to Mexican regulations, however, you will have to finalize any rental agreements upon your arrival.  Furthermore, most apartment rentals in Mexico require a co-signer that owns property in Mexico City, therefore, the process of renting and finding a place can be highly involved.
As stated previously, we highly recommend you initiate your apartment search once you have relocated to the city. Costs for a one or two bedroom apartment rental, vary between 350 to 1000 USD per month.  This will vary depending on location, size, and whether it is furnished.

Homestays

Alliant Mexico can arrange for you to stay with Mexican families or in homes with “hostel-like” settings.  Costs vary between 250 to 600 USD per month depending on location and whether or not some meals are included.  Some homestays include laundry services upon request.  Most of the homes also provide the use of other amenities such as TV, phone, internet, use of the kitchen, etc.  For students who wish to practice their Spanish, this may be the ideal option.

***All listed costs will vary due to current exchange rate.

The Student Services Department is available to help you find the best housing option for you!  Please contact us at mexicoadmissions@alliant.edu for more information.

Additional Living Costs

Living expenses can vary considerably between individuals depending on their personal lifestyle. On average, students can calculate spending 11000 per 9 months.
