Online Degree/Certificate programs

We offer two programs fully online:

Online MA in Education, Teaching Emphasis
Our innovative Master of Arts in Education: Teaching degree program is offered in a 100% online format. This online MA degree is tailored for teachers who want to progress in their profession while still maintaining a busy schedule. Visit the Graduate School of Education page to learn more.

Online Certificate in Technology
This four-course certificate is offered entirely online and prepares students in the use of technology in education, business, and training. Visit the Graduate School of Education page to learn more.

Other Online Courses

If you do not intend to earn a degree at Alliant (or don't have the necessary prerequisites for admission to a degree program) you may apply as a Special Status Non-Degree student, and take other Alliant courses online.*

Application procedures for Special Status Non-Degree students
1. Complete the Special Status Non-Degree application. Click here to download the application (PDF).
2. Submit the Special Status Non-Degree application and a $40.00 application fee via U.S. mail or fax to:

Additional Requirements
Some classes may require special permission from the Department before processing and admitting a non-degree seeking student. Please contact the Admissions Processing Center at 1-866-U-Alliant or via email at admissions@alliant.edu for questions concerning specific requirement.

*A student who is classified as Special Status Non-Degree may be requested to submit supporting documentation. From this admission status, a student may apply for full admission to the University through the regular admission process. If the student becomes a degree-seeking student, a maximum of 12 semester units (undergraduate) earned while in the Special Status Non-Degree category may be applied toward a degree program.

Special Status Non-Degree students are not eligible for financial aid or institutional aid. In cases where class space is limited, degree-seeking students will have enrollment priority.

An I-20 may not be issued to international students for the Special Status Non-Degree category. International Students are not eligible for Special Status unless they have special permissions from the Department.
