Theoretical models covered include object relations, cognitive behavioral and family systems models. Participants will be encouraged to develop an understanding of their own models and articulate these during the course. Basic ethical and legal issues are also covered. Dr. Kuba uses vignettes from her 16 years of experience providing clinical supervision to illuminate the material in the course.

The focus of this seminar is two-fold: to assist therapists in understanding the potential dangers in treating clients and to explore possible interventions to protect themselves and others. Recent Developments in Psychological Assessment: An Integrated Approach to Interpretation and Treatment Planning Using Current Norms and Updated Variables Instructor: Thomas W. Shaffer, Ph.D., A.B.P.P. Date: November 16, 2007 9:00am-4:00pm Course Description: This one day, six hour workshop will provide information on an integrated approach to psychological assessment and treatment planning by focusing on recent developments in the MMPI-2 (RC scales, PSY-5 and MMPI-2 RF) and current Rorschach Comprehensive System findings. Results from soon to be published, (December 2007), research on updated national and international CS norms will be presented including composite international norms. Clinical use of these new CS norms, controversial variables and new interpretive strategies will be presented. An integrative approach to psychological assessment using an Ego Functions Model as opposed to a test by test interpretation will be reviewed.
