Masters Degree in Education Administration for K-12 Schools, San Francisco Campus

The Alliant Master of Arts in Education in Educational Administration, a program of the Graduate School of Education on the San Francisco Campus of Alliant International University, embeds preparation for the California Preliminary Administrative Services Credential within its curriculum.

This 31-unit, four-semester program is a practitioner model, preparing the K-12 school administrator through the integration of practical, school setting situations with researched, applicable theory. The program design is built to engage and advance the aspiring administrator with a strong record of achievement in his or her professional work. 

The Bay Area’s Educational Administration Program targets two major considerations throughout its curriculum: school leadership among America’s poorest families and communities and charter school administration.

Recognizing that aspiring school administrators are highly engaged professionals, the program calendar accommodates their extensive obligations through a weekend and online format. Course delivery over the four semesters consists of online instruction and a Saturday morning (8 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) cohort of on-ground instruction.

Fall TCH 7640 New Models of Instruction and Learning - Online – 16 weeks ELM 7830 Personnel Administration - Saturdays – 1st eight weeks ELM 7850 School, Family and Community Relations - Saturdays – 2nd eight weeks

Spring II ELM 7885 Research Seminar - Saturdays- 1st eight weeks ELM 7990  Field Experience - Online & Field – 16 weeks

Note:  ELM 7885 and TCH 7660 may be omitted from the Administrative Services Tier I Credential required coursework for those not seeking the master’s degree.

Admission Requirements:

• Successful completion of the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
• Valid California Teaching or Services Credential
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate studies or a minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate studies
• Successful interview with faculty admissions committee
• Two written letters of recommendation
• Statement of professional philosophy

Note:  Three years of verifiable teaching experience are required for Preliminary Administrative Services Credential application.
