What is the minimum number of units I need to transfer?

Minimum Requirements  
Spring 2008 45 Units

Maximum Transferable Units - A maximum of 90 semester hours of credit may be accepted for transfer. The final 30 semester units toward a degree must be completed at Alliant in order to comply with residency requirements.
 
What is the minimum GPA requirement?

The minimum grade point average (GPA) requirement for undergraduate admission is a cumulative 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
 

What do I need to submit with my application?

  • A completed application (Online applications require a completed Online Signature Document). 
  • A non-refundable application fee of 45.00 US dollars. Checks and international money orders should be drawn on a US bank and made out to Alliant International University. Do not send cash. If you wish, you may pay the application fee by filling out the credit card section at the bottom of the application form.
  • A copy of your passport must be provided before the I-20 can be issued. Be sure to include the portion that has your photograph and personal information.   
  • Original or official certified copies of academic records for all secondary and post-secondary study.
  • Original copies of public or external examinations you have taken, sent directly from the examining authority.

Please note: Records must list the subjects studied, grades or marks received, date of graduation, and degrees, diplomas or certificates received. Records sent should be in the language of the educational system. If that language is not English, a certified translation must be attached.

  • An official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report showing a score of 550 or better (computer-based 213). If your native language is not English and your official TOEFL score is 549 or lower, or you have not taken the TOEFL, you will be required to take the University's English Proficiency Examination.
  • Alliant's International Student Financial Certification Form. This form must be submitted if you are not a U.S. citizen and have not been classified by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service as a Permanent Resident. Another option to satisfy this requirement is the submission of a current financial guarantee in the form of a letter from a financial institution showing the specific U.S. dollar amount per year available to you and the duration of its availability.
  • Students accompanied by other family members must certify additional US funds per year for each dependent.
  • A transfer verification form (if students is presently attending an institution in the United States). INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) regulations require that you maintain a full-time student status while in the US on a student visa. Alliant reserves the right to require further certification of finances or advance payment of tuition and fees from students whose funds originate in countries where severe currency restrictions exist.
     

Are scholarships available?

Scholarships are available and are based on academic merit. International students may also qualify for ICWO (International Campus Work Opportunity).
