Professions in Liberal Studies

If you are considering a career in teaching to help meet the growing need for qualified teachers in California, the Liberal Studies major prepares you to enter a teacher credential program such as the one offered in the Graduate School of Education at Alliant. Upon completion of the teacher credential program, you will be qualified as a K-6 grade teacher.

If you are someone who has wanted to return to college and complete your bachelor’s degree, the Alliant Liberal Studies Program will give you that opportunity. With a bachelor’s degree, you should move up in your current career as well as prepare yourself for any of the following:

• Top/mid-level manager, executive, and administrator
• Other administrative occupations
• Service occupations
• Other management occupations
• Real estate careers

The writing, researching, and critical thinking skills you develop in the program prepare you for research positions in several different fields, depending on your minor and work outside the classroom.
