The Tauber Fellowships in Clinical Psychology were established by Dr. Ingrid Tauber, a Clinical Psychologist in the San Francisco Bay Area and a graduate of both the Clinical Psychology PhD program and the Clinical Psychopharmacology Postdoctoral Master of Science program at the California School of Professional Psychology.
Funded by the Laszlo N. Tauber Family Foundation, the Tauber Fellowships seek to provide resources to help attract strong students into clinical doctoral programs in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Tauber Fellowships are awarded to 5 incoming students each year in the Clinical Psychology doctoral programs in San Francisco, and provide each student with $10,000 in support per year for up to 4 years. Alliant International University will guarantee a fifth year of support equal to $10,000 for Tauber Fellows in the PhD program. A student’s status as a Tauber Fellow will be renewed annually on the basis of good academic standing and adherence to scholarship stipulations.
Tauber Fellows are selected from among the national applicant pool for CSPP’s Clinical Psychology PsyD and PhD programs in San Francisco. The selection criteria emphasize the quality of the student’s preparation for the doctoral program and the likelihood that s/he will go on to make substantial contributions to the profession of clinical psychology. Those students with demonstrated potential as applied clinical researchers will be accorded preference.
Tauber Fellows will be expected to meet with a faculty mentor each semester and present their applied clinical research findings at state, regional and/or national professional association meetings, with the expectation that those findings will ultimately be published. Tauber Fellows will also be expected to submit an annual report of their applied clinical research activities and participate in a Tauber Fellows Colloquium Series at the end of their third year. Fellowship Application CriteriaIndividuals applying for a Tauber Fellowship must demonstrate a record of strong academic performance, background in psychology research and a history of community involvement.
