Having grown from a free-standing school of professional psychology into an international university, CSPP has had the opportunity to grow its programs internationally. From the beginning, the CSPP faculty has recognized that psychological practice must be grounded in a deep awareness of cultural differences. California is one of the most culturally diverse regions of the US, and CSPP has drawn on this rich tradition of diversity to inform its programs. One natural extension of this tradition is to advance the development of professional psychology in other countries.

International Programs:
Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mexico City

CSPP has three international degree programs: the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology in Hong Kong; the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology in Tokyo, Japan; and the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in Mexico City, Mexico.

CSPP also offers a Summer Immersion program for CSPP students studying at US campuses, providing an opportunity for students to spend their summer semester in Mexico City, immerse themselves in Mexican culture and build Spanish language skills while taking coursework required for their degree program.

CSPP also offers cultural immersion programs in other countries, such as the upcoming CSPP Academic Tour in Chennai, India December 27, 2008 through January 6, 2009.

Each program is unique and innovative in its own way. The curriculum for each program integrates US models of psychological theory and practice with modifications that are culturally appropriate and respond to the needs of the communities in the cities and countries where the programs are offered. The strong link between the program and local community assists students in gaining culturally competent practice modalities, enabling graduates to work with diverse populations in our global society.
