Title: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY, PH.D. PROGRAM

Department: CSPP - LOS ANGELES CLINICAL PHD PROGRAM

Reports To: PROGRAM DIRECTOR - LOS ANGELES CLINICAL PHD PROGRAM

Hours:

Summary:

Founded in 1969, the CALIFORNIA SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (CSPP) was the first freestanding professional school of clinical psychology in the United States. Following its merger with United States International University in 2001 to become the CALIFORNIA SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGY at ALLIANT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, CSPP remains one of the country’s largest professional schools of psychology, offering APA-accredited doctoral programs across six locations in California. Our programs have trained close to half of the practicing clinical psychologists in California. Our institutional mission is to provide students with the highest quality of education through innovation in scholarship, applied training and research, and community service, particularly to underserved populations. Our goal is to equip students with the competencies they need to improve the quality of human life by addressing major contemporary social issues. Core competencies of our doctoral training programs include cultural diversity, which is infused in courses and field placements and is manifest in the diversity of our students and faculty.

Accordingly, we seek to recruit and invite applications for faculty and program directors with cutting-edge and culturally relevant academic and/or practice-based experience.

Requirements: Clinical Ph.D. degree from an APA-accredited doctoral program and licensed or license-eligible in the State of California. Candidates should have graduate level teaching experience, an ongoing program of research, and clinical experience that includes community-based delivery of mental health services. Applicants demonstrating commitment to multicultural/multinational education and research, as well as experience relevant to both culturally and individually diverse populations, are strongly encouraged to apply. Though particular area of expertise is open, persons demonstrating a strong record of graduate teaching, research and clinical expertise in family and systemic models for the delivery of mental health services and persons with a background that includes advocacy and policy experience relevant to contemporary social issues and/or underserved populations are particularly encouraged to apply.
