Title: Program Director, Clinical Psychology PhD Program

Department: CSPP - Clinical PhD Program

Reports To: CSPP Dean

Hours: Full-time

Summary:

The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University is home to an innovative, APA-accredited Clinical PhD program, based in Fresno. We are seeking a dynamic and proven Program Director to begin Fall 2010. This full-time Program Director position requires both administrative and academic leadership, as one-half of the time is allotted to teaching and mentoring students. As Program Director you will work with faculty and program directors from the other CSPP clinical psychology and marital and family therapy programs at campuses throughout California, Asia and Mexico.

 

The successful candidate should have proven research and teaching records. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in integrative mental health care, but are open to all areas of expertise in clinical psychology. The Program Director will provide leadership for the effective and efficient fulfillment of academic and administrative goals and objectives defined by the School. The Program Director reports to the Dean of CSPP.

 

Primary responsibilities include: 1) Ensuring delivery of a quality academic program, including curriculum development and evaluation;  2) Oversight of program faculty and staff recruitment, hiring, development, and retention, 3) Working collaboratively with the Office of Professional Training to ensure high quality student clinical field training;  4) Developing an Annual Operating Plan and Annual Budget Plan and ensuring implementation of and adherence to same; 5) Ensuring that tasks related to APA accreditation are implemented, including developing and writing self-study reports and responses and submitting annual reports, and 6) working with the Dean, CSPP faculty, and other program directors to develop and implement strategies for innovation in the education of psychologists for professional practice.

 

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in psychology (licensed or license eligible in CA), faculty experience in teaching and mentoring within a graduate psychology program, academic administrative experience, a record of achievement in the field, and knowledge of and/or experience with the APA and/or WASC accreditation processes.
