Cultural Awareness and Competence
Among the most important values of Alliant and our mission is a belief that all of our students should have an awareness of, respect for and curiosity about multicultural and international similarities and differences. Furthermore, practicing professionals must demonstrate cultural competence to work with the diverse array of people they will likely encounter in their profession as clients, colleagues, students and employees. The multicultural and international pillar of our mission is embraced by all of our schools, and has been incorporated into the professional practice competencies toward which we train our students.
Alliant’s own diverse campus community offers daily opportunities for multicultural experiences with students, faculty and staff coming from more than 75 countries across many ethnic and cultural groups. Some programs offer the opportunity for students to spend intensive periods of time in other countries during the course of their training.
