Anyone who has ever taught can share powerful stories of lives touched.

Whether you work with children, teens or adults, and whether you work in a classroom or an office, there is no other career like education. Educators touch lives in lasting ways. Educators are on the front lines of social change every day. And it's the millions of educators who get up and go to school each day, in every state across our nation, who are building the world of tomorrow.

Education's task is demanding here in California because our state is preparing the most diverse student body the world has ever seen. Given the challenges of changing demographics and a changing economy, our nation must prepare educators with advanced skills and competencies.

Today's classroom needs teachers who speak different languages, who understand how language forms, and who understand how to include disabled children. We need psychologists who are experienced in the full range of social and developmental challenges that impact children. We need administrators who not only can lead traditional k-12 schools, but also those who can take on the challenges of advancing inner-city schools, starting charter schools, and building schools specializing in technology or catering to new immigrants. And we need forward-thinking administrators who can meet the demands of our community colleges and insitutions of higher education.

In short, education needs you.

Partners for Success

GSOE's Partners for Success  initiative delivers model teacher preparation and professional education programs in partnership with public school districts in the Fresno, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco metropolitan areas. We are proud to be partnering with the TEACH California initiative.

The fundamental concept behind Partners for Success is that the entire learning environment must be addressed holistically to facilitate student academic achievement. For more information, click the link above.

A Program to Fit Your Career, Your Goals, Your Schedule

Whether you're a newly minted college graduate who is interested in classroom teaching, a mid-career administrator interested in refining your skills, or a career changer interested in doing something more meaningful than your current job allows, the Graduate School of Education at Alliant has a program that will meet your needs. Because we know that one size does not fit all, we have created a broad range of degree programs that meet a broad range of educational needs, learning styles, and personal schedules.

At the Graduate School of Education, our goal is to train professionals who will make a difference in the lives of countless others through teaching, counseling, leadership, advocacy, administration, management, or community work.

Our Ingredients:
Research, Technology, Multicultural Content

We designed our School Psychology, Teacher Education, TESOL and Educational Leadership programs from the ground up, making sure that the real-world needs of students -- and the latest research findings -- are central to the curricula in each program.

GSOE infuses its curricula with multicultural content and emphasizes student achievement, instructional technology, assessment, neuropsychology, mentoring of diverse populations, and comprehensive community service.

At the core of our professional practitioner model, we have created a cohort structure. Your cohort -- fellow students who will be learning along with you under close and collegial faculty supervision -- will support your learning while you're in your degree program and beyond. Thanks to the cohort model, you will be building a professional support system of colleagues who will assist you throughout your career while you're enrolled in the Graduate School of Education at Alliant.
