The History
Alliant International University and the Alliant vision came to life in 2001. A lot
was happening that year across the United States and around the world as the events
of 9-11 and their aftermath unfolded. For Alliant students the merging of CSPP (California
School of Professional Psychology) and USIU (United States International University)
against a backdrop of national and international questioning and wondering meant a
lot of change happening at every level of campus activity. But something magical
also happened that year . . . two graduate students got together with the Student
Government Association (SGA) and initiated what would become the annual Leadership
Conference. Like a phoenix a new opportunity was born, an event by students, for
students, to give voice to students’ ideas, scholarship interests, and professional
passions, working alone or with other students or with faculty or other professionals
to present these ideas and passions in a format similar to a professional conference.
Eleven years later, this Leadership Conference is still a part of Alliant, and we
are here to take it to the next level, with your help. This conference is for any
graduate or undergraduate student at the university from a wide variety of disciplines
including: Clinical Psychology, Business, Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology,
Law, and Forensic Psychology.

|
Greg Koch is Co-Founder and CEO of Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, California. Since Greg started the company with his partner Steve Wagner in 1996, Stone has become one of the fastest growing and highest rated breweries in the world. Brewing nearly 115,000 barrels in 2010, Stone is the 14th largest craft brewery in the United States, a position it achieved without ever advertising, discounting, giving away freebies or compromising. Greg passionately believes that environmental and social sustainability goes hand-in-hand with brewing mind-blowing beer, and he frequently is called on to speak on topics ranging from craft beer to business to food to marketing, bringing a bold, entertaining, and often humorous approach along with his philosophy. |
