Program Fee & Course Enrollment
The program fee is $2500. This fee includes all housing, most meals, lectures, entrance fees to events/activities and transportation (drivers) in Chennai. It does NOT include your flight to Chennai and the tuition for the course. There are two separate deadlines for payment of the program fee:
1. September 16, 2012 – This is the deadline for the payment of the non-refundable deposit of $300. The deposit needs to be sent to Thomas Swank. If you pay by check, please make the check payable to Alliant International University and put "India Immersion Program" in the memo section and mail it to the address below:

You can also pay by cash or money order. Please contact Thomas Swank to learn about these options of payment.
2. October 15, 2012 – This is the deadline for the payment of the rest of the program fee, $2500. Please use the above mentioned procedure to make your payments. You MAY be eligible to use financial aid to pay for the program fee and flight costs, in addition to your tuition for the courses. Here is what you need to do:
Contact your campus financial aid representative by September 16th and inform them about the program and find out if you are eligible for the aid. You may have to complete additional documents and so it is recommended that you meet them by the said date.

You are required to enroll in the following course in order to participate in the immersion experience in Chennai, India:
PSY 6654 - Mental Health Perspective in India with Dr. Raji Natrajan-Tyagi & Dr. Jason Platt (3 units)
The elective will be offered during the Spring 2013 semester. All the face-to-face contact will happen in India. You need to register for the Spring semester course, before you leave for the Immersion program. Attendance at the immersion program is contingent upon your enrollment in the course. You will be unable to drop the course once you have attended the immersion experience in India. Dropping the course would result in financial aid penalties. You will be doing your required readings and turning in assignments through Moodle before and after you go on the trip and through the course of the spring 2013 semester. The instructors will be available to you over email and through Moodle.
HOW TO ENROLL FOR THE COURSES
Here are the steps to take in order to enroll for the course.
- Check with your Program Director whether the courses would be acceptable for your program of study. This is crucial because various programs have different expectation and it is important to make sure that you will be able to transfer over the credits to your program of study.
- Enroll for the Spring 2013 semester course at the end of the fall 2012 semester through the usual University registration system.
