Clinical Counseling Masters Program - San Francisco
TRAIN FOR A CAREER IN COUNSELING
CSPP is proud to announce a new Master of Arts (MA) program in Clinical Counseling, offered at the San Francisco campus of Alliant International University. The program enrolled its first cohort in Fall 2011.
FOCUS: MENTAL WELLNESS, NOT ILLNESS
Professional counseling is a very vibrant field with excellent career growth opportunities. Unlike other mental health treatment approaches, counseling focuses on wellness and prevention rather than pathology.
CSPP’s counseling program integrates a strengths-based and resilience perspective
to foster critical consciousness and reflective thinking, developing practitioner
skills in diagnosis, treatment planning and psychological interventions with individuals
EMPOWER CLIENTS THROUGH MULTICULTURAL COMPETENCE
The MA Clinical Counseling uses academic, experiential and research-based clinical practice approaches as well as direct community service learning in coursework and field placements. It also develops multicultural competence and a strong foundation in social justice advocacy to empower the clients and communities they will serve.
All students graduate positioned to pursue the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
(LPCC) license in California and most other states.
In accordance with California State Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements, students matriculating into the Fall 2011 cohort will be eligible for 48 semester-unit MA degree. Students matriculating on or after August 1, 2012 will complete a 60-unit MA program. The program is designed to be completed in a minimum of two years of full time study.
