The San Diego Chargers have named Alliant International University’s Dr. Guadalupe Corona the winner of the 2012 Chargers/NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. The award recognizes the important contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market.

Dr. Corona, director of the Latino Achievement Initiative at Alliant University, was selected because of her extensive leadership in both the public and private sectors.

Dr. Corona was honored during special ceremonies at the September 23 San Diego Chargers–Atlanta Falcons game. The entire National Football League is observing Hispanic Heritage Month. And the Chargers have a deep history of supporting Hispanic culture.
