Dr. Miles Beauchamp was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Southern California and South Florida. He has also lived in Guadalajara, Mexico, Hawaii, and Oklahoma. He is Assistant Professor of Communications at Alliant International University where he teaches and does research in social media for enterprise and the professions, mass media communications, writing, and the portrayal of disabled individuals in American Literature. He is Associate Editor and system-wide columnist at the Asian Journal, an English-language, pan-Asian newspaper and his work is included in: Disabilities Studies Quarterly (DSQ), The Asian Journal, Exquisite Cadaver, and Project Kalusugan: Getting and Keeping Filipinos Involved in Social Issues. Dr. Beauchamp is a member of American Press Institute, Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Modern Language Association (MLA), Scientific Journals International Advisory Board, Society of Professional Journalists, Society for Technical Communication, Writer's Federation of America, and Writer's Haven - San Diego. His community involvements include working with San Diego County Adoptions, El Cajon Commission on Disabilities, and Newspapers in Education.
