DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Counseling and Recruitment
1.Provide counseling and overall customer service to prospective freshman/lower division students, specifically senior and junior high school students and their families, at all stages in the admissions process via telephone, e-mail and campus visits. 
2.Maintain ongoing communication with applicants throughout the admissions process, tracking all communications using SalesForce and Jenzabar CX, when applicable.
3.Coordinate monthly Open Houses with faculty and/or student/alumni presenters.
4.Attend high school fairs, community college recruitment fairs, and applicable conventions and conferences.
5.Assist in the research and development of contact lists for potential new marketing and recruitment channels, partnerships, and outreach. Primary target area is Southern San Diego.
6.Cultivate partnerships and pipeline relationships with other organizations and institutions, such as school districts, professional organizations and others
7.Create an annual directory of current student contacts and classes open for visitors, to be shared with prospective students.
8.Network with other recruiters for professional development.
Admissions Process Management
1.Receive and process admissions applications from the university’s Application Processing Center.
2.Coordinate reading and interview processes and schedules with faculty and/or program directors.
3.Invite and host admissions finalists for interview.
4.Prepare acceptance agreement packets, coordinating with other departments, administrators and faculty.
5.Manage and monitor deferred enrollments and wait-listed applicants.
6.Distribute admissions statistic reports and lists to faculty and/or program directors.

The Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator, reporting to the Vice President of Student Services, will recruit for and administer an admissions process for all lower division Undergraduate programs associated with the San Diego campus. 
Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and relate well to prospective and continuing students, as well as faculty, administration, staff and the President's Office. They must possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as superb organizational skills, the ability to multi task and follow through, the ability to work independently and also with a team of colleagues, and an aptitude for detail oriented tasks.

BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SalesForce or similar customer relations management system, and experience with integrated business software systems in higher education, including relational databases. 

Experience in a college/university admissions department and/or two or more years of customer service, sales or marketing experience. 

Bilingual Spanish is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate well to both prospective and continuing students, as well as faculty, administration and staff. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow through and pay close attention to detail.
Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse background; Proven ability to work effectively as a team player; highly motivated, focused and results oriented. Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to manage multiple tasks according to required deadlines, and maintain composure under high stress conditions. Ability to be optimistic, positive and supportive in all interactions with others. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
