1.Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets and the consolidation of the overall University Operating and Capital Budgets.
2.Assist in ongoing monitoring of budgets and devising corrective actions plans to ensure budget objectives are achieved.
3.Provide monthly management reports to senior management and analyze variances to budget.
4.Provide support to senior management regarding budgeting and reporting issues.
5.Assist in program contribution, overhead allocation, operating metrics and benchmarking exercises.
6.Develop and maintain financial models.
7.Other duties as required by the Vice-President/CFO.


The Financial Analyst, under the general direction of the Vice-President/Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will provide financial and analytical support to Senior Management members.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; MBA preferred.

Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access). Experience with complex, integrated business software systems, Jenzebar  CX and Hyperion Budget experience preferred.

Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience in budgeting/financial analysis with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong customer focus and can-do attitude with strong interpersonal, written and presentation skills.  Well organized with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to work independently.

Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
