Until assuming his current position at Alliant International University, for the prior 9 years Dr. Rappaport was Program Chair of the Graduate Programs in Forensic Psychology and Counseling Psychology at Argosy University in Alameda.
Prior to that, for 9 years he was Chief of the Psychology Division at Marin General Hospital and has maintained a private practice in Marin County for the past 30 years, specializing in utilizing CBT interventions for a variety of conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic disorders and phobias, chemical dependency, eating disorders, and adjustment disorders. Dr. Rappaport has taught classes and given workshops in colleges, universities, and training centers in the United States, Canada, and France. Prior to moving to San Francisco in 1982, he directed two graduate programs at Northeastern University in Boston.
More recently, Dr. Rappaport participated in a series of Crisis Intervention Team trainings for the San Mateo Sheriff's Department for which he and his faculty received Special Congressional Recognition for Distinguished Service. Currently, Dr. Rappaport is involved in delivering Stress Inoculation Training for the police and fire personnel in the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
